Collection: Cantina Giba

Immersed in a land with a strong oenological vocation, Cantina Giba currently has 20 hectares divided among the suggestive vines in front of the Porto Pino beach, those of Is Muras and Calasetta, up to the expanses of Sant’Anna and Masanais. The Prince of the Territory is the Carignano del Sulcis DOC. A native vine of probable Spanish origins, arrived in Sardinia during the Aragonese domination in the 1300s. In Spain it is called Carinena, in France Carignan. Its color, alcohol content and structure make it an excellent cutting wine. The more recent counter-espalier systems, characterized by greater attention to quality, have led to the recognition of the DOC Carignano del Sulcis denomination.

It is a vigorous vine, with abundant and constant production. Poorly resistant to cryptogams, in particular to oidium, it has, instead, good resistance to winds, salts and spring colds; it is therefore a vine that can grow well along the coasts. Incredible is its resistance to phylloxera, a characteristic that has allowed in some areas not to resort to grafts to return to the frank foot.

Cantina Giba has been awarded several times with the greatest awards of different Wine guides.
